Hi, this is my first message and I had to join because I'm going out my mind.
I had a MMC at 8 weeks last year and I'm pregnant again now and have my scan tomorrow (6+5 days) I've had brown discharge on at week 4 and week 5, no cramping.
I'm worried that it's not going right because I don't have morning sickness like I did last time, I swear my boobs are hurting less and I'm just waiting for the inevitable (another MC)
I was hoping you'd give me some advice, reassurance or first hand experience. Anyone been at this stage and had similar symptoms/lack of?

Also, at 6+5 will there even be a heartbeat? What are the chances I will MC again?

I'm 26 btw and usually healthy.

Hi Ruth,
Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I can totally understand the worry, I had a MC at 12 weeks in February and was terrified in the lead up to my 8 week scan in this pregnancy (All was absolutely fine).
If you are 6+5 its still really early and totally normal to not be having many strong symptoms, my sickness didn't kick in until nearer 8 weeks this time around. Its on the borderline of whether you may or may not be able to see a clear heartbeat on the scan, especially if you are a late ovulator and the fetus development is a few days behind what you might be expecting from your LMP dates.
You asked about the chances of another MC, I did some reading up on this when I was pregnant again, and the chances seem to be around 1 in 25 women who suffer 2 MC in a row. Which I thought sounded bad, until I decided to focus on the fact that means 24 out of 25 women who have had a MC go on to have a healthy pregnancy the next time! Try and stay positive, and let us know hoe you get on tomorrow x

It might be a bit early for a heartbeat. I had a scan at 6 weeks and all you could see was the yolk sac and a dot in it. They then offered me a scan for two weeks later to check for a heartbeat, and they used this to date me as well.

My symptoms didn't really start until week 6, but everyone is different.

Good luck tomorrow!

Hi all,

No baby I'm afraid so bad news, although they want to scan me in 10 days time job just in case by a.miracle they see a baby. They told me not to hold out. Very sad to.have lost two pregnancies, I'm scared I'll never get my baby.and I'm exhausted :(

Just wanted to say Ruthe that I'm so sorry. This process can be heartbreaking. I really hope that you can get good support IRL as you wait for the next scan - and that the outcome surprises you in a good way xx
