Was it a 'flutter' I felt?

Morning all! I'm 19 weeks pregnant with first baby and waiting with excited anticipation to feel my baby move for the first time. I keep being told that at first I will feel a fluttery feeling, a bit like trapped wind. Last night I had quite an intense bubbly feeling but it was quite high up. Almost near my diaphragm....was this a flutter? Or is it wishful thinking and more to do with the chicken tikka masala I'd had a few hours before? Hmm

It might have been the firs flutters Smile

It is an exquisite feeling: enjoy every flutter, tickle, kick and thump!!

First feelings I had were similar to what you said - felt like champagne bubbles tickling up my belly. The first small thumps weren't too long after those! Smile

my first flutters felt like popcorn going of in my belly and i had them quite high up also :)

Congrats

Yeh probably a flutter! Grin

Congrats!

I had everyone telling me my first flutters were just wind but I knew the difference.

Congratulations! I'm 17+4 and I've not felt any flutters or bubbles yet :-( But I am feeling a few funny twinges every now and then, and a couple of times I've had a feeling as if I've just driven over a humpback bridge or gone on a roller coaster and left my stomach behind!! Do you think that could be the baby, or is it too soon? I'm a first timer.

Congrats on the flutters! Never too early to feel anything Albertgirl, I was lucky enough to have my first 'pops' at just over 15 weeks! I also experienced that churning feeling also, I've put it down to baby having some somersault fun!
All very exciting & very reassuring!

It sounds a bit like a flutter. Until I had a few more I couldn't be sure and now I feel the baby a lot and I love it! Apart from when it and my husband are both wriggling at night when I want to sleep!
Congrats on the first one- enjoy all the movements! Xx

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I can happily confirm that it was definitely a 'flutter' and now has developed into little kicks. The first evening the baby did this my husband laid his head on my belly and got kicked in the face! It was one of the most exciting moments of our lives! Grin I'm sure I'll be laughing at that statement when the kicks start getting uncomfortable! But in the meantime, after a really rough first trimester, it's so nice to finally be enjoying my pregnancy! Smile

Aw :) Congrats! That's lovely to hear. I felt the same, will never forget the look on my husband's face the first time he felt a thump.
