hi! does anyone know if it's ok to get a spray tan when pregnant?

Yes, why wouldn't it be? Confused

Haha I'm not sure! just thought it could be to do with chemicals being absorbed into the skin or something, but I guess I'm just being overly paranoid now Blush

It's safe but mine always go patchy when I'm pregnant. The lady said it'd quite common, something to do with pigment and hormones I think she said!

The NHS website says it's ok as long as you don't have an allergic reaction to it.

Unwitting I don't actually think that link is saying it's definitely ok to have a spray tan while pregnant...

"Its generally considered safe to use fake tan creams and lotions during pregnancy, but its probably its probably best to avoid spray tans because the effects of inhaling the spray are not known."

Does that not mean, creams and lotions = fine, spray tans = not really known..?

Sorry copied and pasted direct from the site, hence the weird question mark things instead of apostrophes! Smile

The "safest to avoid" advice extends to shower gel and deodorant too, according to the RCOG.

I suppose it depends on your personal level of paranoia and whether you think it's a cop out on behalf of the medical profession to keep offering untenable-in-real-life guilt-based advice to women that isn't based on any actual evidence.
