Breast pump recommendations?

Hi everyone,

I've just found out that the highly popular Avent Isis manual pump has been discontinued Hmm

Can anyone please recommend a good breast pump similar to the Isis? From what I've read a manual pump looks quicker and gets more milk than some of the more expensive electric pumps?

All help greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Cherry x

Medela is supposed to be really good and you can get bags that fit on it, so it's easier to pop it in your freezer. I spent a bomb on an electric one first time round, couldn't put it together and found that it was actually quicker for me to express by hand anyway.

I found the medela mini electric was good and v.simple to assemble.

I used the medela freestyle last time and was pumping after every feed for months. It was fantastic and really helped increase my supply.
It isn't cheap but was definitely worth it.

Thanks everyone! The modela looks good, but I'm wondering if expressing with a manual pump is quicker/easier if doing it twice a day?

Medela battery/mains pumps are the best imo. You will get an achy wrist with manual. I tried advent it was absolute crap.

I started with a Tommee Tippee manual but found I got cramps hands very quickly. I got an Ameda Lactaline double electric pump, which I found great - it had varying speed settings so you can simulate the initial fast sucking to get the letdown then the slow drawing sucking that is a bit more productive.
If you are going to do it twice a day, I would say you really want an electric pump.
