Should I be on consultant led care

I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with dc2, everything ok so far and my midwife has put me on midwifery led care. I didn't think anything about it at first but my dd1 was born at 35 weeks due to my waters breaking and I was then induced a couple of days later. My DD1 was born perfectly healthy and we were allowed home 3 days later. I am just concerned as what if my waters break much earlier this time and could it be avoided if I'm monitored more closely? I am probably over thinking but was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts/experience about this? I should also mention I have had previous LLETZ treatment on my cervix and i always wondered if this is why my waters broke early. Thank you

i was placed as moderate risk and referred to consultant but only because of my age and a bmi of 30 ... no mention of my son who was induced and born at 21 weeks due to his heart stopping and missed complications of cord/placenta ... it confuses me how that would not take priority or warrant a closer eye being kept on this pregnancy. i was told i will meet him once (tomorrow) and if Downs risk is low which it is then i wont see him again ... i have little faith in the system :( hope you get your referral!

Really sorry to hear about your ds I would have thought due to that you would have been on Consultant led care and monitored closely all the way through. I do hope thinks work out for you this time x

im going to scrupulously vet the consultant tomorrow and refuse to be signed off simply because my Downs risk is low ... there is no guarentee that history wont repeat and more likely if this pregnancy is team blue too although all looks great so far :) costing a small fortune in private scans but its my only peace of mind with not seeing my midwife till 16 weeks after bookjng in at 8! such long periods woth no care isnt it!!
maybe speak to your midwife again and state how anxious you are ... it seems unless we make noise we are just expected to go with the flow and sometimes thats just not good enough x
