Back ache when sitting what helps?

Now into 3rd trimester and I get bad back pain when sitting, though not when walking about. Would one of those lumbar cushions help? Anything you've tried? I'm doing q regular yoga cat stretches, but still, back seems to seize up when I sit in a chair, or in the car...

Last pregnancy I took a hot water bottle with me to work every day for about the last five weeks and would go for a walk during my lunch break. Seem to have gotten off lightly this time round in terms of back pain but remember how horrible it was.

I had a banana type bean bag pillow. It was my best friend for at least the last trimester and well into the first three months post birth, and don't even get me started how I wouldn't let the damn thing out of my sight during labour :)

Sitting on an exercise ball helped me. Not much use in the car, I appreciate, but might work instead of a chair? I had one in work and bounced around behind my desk. Helped my back and amused my colleagues no end. I also had a cold spray thing that helped bit (deepfreeze.co.uk/product-range.html)

My physio recommended a wobble board thingy, to pop on your chair to make it feel like a big gym ball.

Might help? That eases my pelvis and lower back loads combined with a hot water bottle x

Lumbar support cushions help, as do sitting on a birthing ball when you can. Also make sure never to sit for more than a hour - preferably much less (easy done in a car and office job - so break up long car journeys, and find excuses to get up around the office - i.e. popping to the printer, instead of leaning to reach filling cabinet get up and walk over to it, etc).

Thanks, I'm going to try these various tips! Hadn't thought of hot water bottle!
