They gave me a internal and a scan the scan showed i was roughly 51/2 to 6 weeks, i started bleeding again last night and still going :( ive not really had any pain, and only a very small clot probs the size of poppy seed. has anyone else had this and gone onto have a normal pregnany i have another scan in 10 days :( x

I had light bleeding with DD for about ten days. Thought it was a period as was clueless about possible preg symptoms. Early scan showed a heartbeat and we had to guess my dates. Rest of preg uneventful, DD is three, happy and healthy. Good luck.

My mum missed her period and found out she was pregnant and was very excited, then the next period came on time and was just as heavy as any normal period (about 4 days of a decent flow, not super heavy but certainly alarming for a pregnant lady!)
She thought well then, that's that. Didn't get checked out as she believed that was a miscarriage and it was all over. Well my sister is 35 now and arrived 5 days before the due date over 7 pounds (so wasn't conceived the following cycle IYSWIM)

Will keep fingers crossed for you and your baby!

Hi OP I'm sorry you're having this worry. A scan showing the pregnancy is very good news though. Is there any way they can scan you again before the 10 days is up if you ring and tell them you've been bleeding again? Fwiw I bled for 7 weeks (yes! weeks!) and my 'threatened miscarriage' is now a strapping great 10 year old. I had weekly scans during that time and I can sympathise with you because it is all very worrying. I think the worst thing was that I couldn't actually do anything about it - I just had to wait for the scan every week. So yes I did have this and went on to have a normal pregnancy (although he was a bit preemie - the staff at the EPU warned me this often happens with that particular prolonged bleeding although they didn't know why) and so do lots of other women. Also a friend had what she thought were periods every month for the first five months until she found out she was pregnant, in true Take A Break style, so there's another positive story for you. Good luck!
