Dear all, I am 12 weeks pregnant according to when we last dtd, but scans from 5 weeks have put me a week behind. I've been assured that this in itself is not anything to worry about, but have been bleeding off and on since before I even got a positive test. The bleeding stopped for a while, then I had a huge gush at 10 weeks. Was diagnosed with sub chorionic hematoma- amazing consultant assured me was nothing to worry about. Bleeding subsided to brown discharge then 2 days ago- started to bleed v heavily. Went along to EPU who assured me baby fine, measuring well etc and they can't find any reason for bleeding. Came home and have been bleeding a lot today despite largely being in bed. It's driving me bonkers! Not sure how I can poss still be preggers after this but don't know what to do. Loathe to go to a an e as I know it'll be a nightmare at weekend and won't be scanned til monday anyway!!! Argggggh. Any wise words for me? X

Was the fluid thing connected to the sch then? Wierdly, they couldn't even see it yesterday and consultant at uch specifically said it was too small to worry about. Bleeding and cramping subsided a bit now

Honestly I have no idea. It was all a lot to take in tbh.

I remember one scan where they printed the measurements and it was very small and only held a few mls of blood. But next day was bleeding very heavily. Much more than the haematoma held so it must have re bled and grown.

I'm sure they said the blood could take fluid with it.

But if felt a pop two weeks previously so thought they'd actually broken.

Went in to uch early this morning as bleeding v v heavy overnight. Got scanned and baby still there, accompanied by what I thought looked huge but doc said was small clot. In pain now so in bed feeling useless and frustrated. Really want to play with my darling child in the sunshine but have sent her to nan and grandads. Feeling super shitty :(

Sad that's good news that baby is still hanging in there.

But I'm. Sorry you are feeling so crappy. It's so frustrating I know. It takes so much time away from your other child and the not knowing what's going to happen makes it one of the hardest things.

Just be kind to yourself And don't try and do to much. Thanks

Did you get put on iron tablets

Christelle2207 · 19/10/2014 13:12

You poor thing. Great that baby OK tho.what did doc say?

Yellowheart · 19/10/2014 13:39

I'm on spatone iron supplements anyway but doc didnt mention giving me any extra. Doctor quite non committal- I have my NT scan this week and am with a consultant because of previous pregnancy so hopefully will
Learn more then. Have been told if bleeding gets any heavier then go back in, otherwise not much to be done.

Was also wondering of arnica or accupuncture would help with the sch?

I guess they couldn't hurt.

But obviously I wouldn't undertake without say so from Dr's although I can't see how they could be harmful in any way.

How are you doing tonight.

Bit better today-heavy bleeding and pain seems to have subsided a wee bit. I'm signed off for the next two weeks so bring forced to relax. When did you return to work? I have a pretty manic job that involves quite a lot of standing and going up and down stairs and found it worsened after rushing about all day.
