Hi, has anyone else has this pop up on their scan? Went in for a growth scan today (33 weeks) and they found that the bpd was outside of norms. Head circumference was ok (just about, but baby as a whole is petit) and anatomy all looks good. Got sent off for bloods to rule out any viral infections. I am freaking out now, the doc was vague about the potential implications, just told me to stay away from google. Of course I went straight to google. Anyone else any experience?

Mine was small at one scan, freaked out thanks to google. The next scan all was fine with the BPD and her abdomen was small! She caught up. A lot depends on their position at the time to be able to do the exact measurements. Even tiny measurements make a difference to centiles.

She's now 3 weeks old and absolutely fine. Easier said than done I know but try not to worry.

Thanks Porcito, reassuring to hear positive stories! Hopefully the next scan and the bloods will look good. It's hard not to panic when anything brain-related is raised, you immediately jump to worst-case scenarios.
