"Maternity" knickers....

So, I'm 17 weeks, and my ordinary knickers are starting to make unsightly lines on my teeny tiny bump (I pretty much live in leggings and tops) so does anyone have any suggestions of knickers which might not do this?!

Stretchy lace ones that will grow with you? Depends what shape you usually wear. I once cut through one side of mine when they were digging into me at work. Grin

I just brought v cheap ( they will get ruined! ) bikini briefs so sat below bump or u could get big ones ( u need those after! ) but buy in a couple of sizes up - as ur pelvis etcc will expand a bit making them tight!
I cant wait to throw them all away soon and wear normal after baby comes!

BlueberryWafer · 17/10/2014 09:27

I bought some Asda "full briefs" in a size too big. Absolute definition of 'granny knickers' but quite frankly I couldn't give a damn as they're so comfy!

katandkits · 17/10/2014 09:30

I also went for oversized granny knickers, they saw me through to the end and were good for after the birth too

pocketsized · 17/10/2014 09:31

Hmm, yes, maybe I just need to find some lower cut ones. I hate being able to see the line across te front! X

I bought a size up. Big cosy granny ones. They are hilarious.

Hazelbrowneyes · 17/10/2014 09:38

I started out wearing size 8-10 and now at 33 weeks I'm wearing size 16 purely for comfort. Smaller ones just roll under my bump and it annoys me. I've just been buying cheap multipacks from tesco. If my knickers are uncomfy, I'm the grumpiest woman around Grin

LIG1979 · 17/10/2014 09:43

I found mine were lower cut and so always went under the bump during my last pregnancy.

pocketsized · 17/10/2014 09:47

Maybe I'll try granny knickers, I'm rather loving my granny tights as leggings that go over the bump, and they sound nice and warm I this nasty weather! Off I go to tesco.....

I have been buying knickers in larger size to accommodate by growing belly (and arse…)

I refused to spend £10 on 2 pairs of maternity knickers but DH did treat me to some maternity shorts from mothercare that are like heaven. I don't know what makes them so different but I have three pairs that are on constant rotation in the washing machine so I always have a pair to wear Blush

ChippingInLatteLover · 17/10/2014 10:55

You should try some of these - they are really comfortable (though no cotton gusset) Knickers

They are from Matalan, so cheap! (£6 for 3 pairs). They are very stretchy like leggings, they are soft and don't 'roll down'.

Like these Tiggy?

M&S do packs of 5 bikini briefs. They're very low rise (sit just above my CS scar) and fit perfectly under a bump. I wore my usual size all the way through both pregnancies.

Becca1818 · 17/10/2014 12:02

I'm rocking some oh so sexy black granny style pants from primark £2.50 for a pack of 4. Not attractive but comfortable as they go over bump

TwigletFiend · 17/10/2014 12:13

I'm rocking DP's boxers. And not in a DTD kind of way.

pocketsized · 17/10/2014 12:18

lol, that made me laugh Twiglet - in the nicest possible way to my DH, even at 17 weeks I think his boxers would fall off me!

I've stuck with my usual high leg briefs worn below the bump. I do have some full granny style knickers in a bigger size for afterwards though.

JustGotMyBabyOnBoardBadge · 17/10/2014 13:40

I hated anything touching the bump and just by chance I ordered some 'teeny bikini' briefs from Gap - they ROCK MY WORLD!!

They are low enough that they don't go near cutting into the bump but are substantial enough that they don't walk up my sizeable arse AND the best thing about them is that they have amazing stretch-ability that as stretched with me all through my pregnancy..they are in my option amazing and the best find ever...however be warned that the shops rarely stock them and I had to buy online....a bit more expensive but super comfortable and I still feel pretty good and flattered in them. Will use them afterwards as well

tiggy2610 · 17/10/2014 13:49

Yes, those exact ones pocket! Wearing the pink ones right now. Expensive but love them Grin
