How far along were you at first NCT class?

I am 36+2 and we have our first NCT class today. When I mentioned it to MW she said "leaving it a bit late". When I booked they asked my due date so I presume we will all be about the same EDD. Am I going to waddle up today to lots of tiny bumps? How pregnant were you at your NCT classes?

About 27 weeks, but they did 8 week courses in my area. My SIL did her course over one weekend.

OldBeanbagz · 17/10/2014 09:10

I was at about the same stage you're at. I was concerned that it was quite late but it was the first NCT i could get on.

We all had EDD around the same time but one mum didn't make it to the end of the course before giving birth!

TheWiseOldElf · 17/10/2014 09:11

Mine was quite mixed. I think I was about 30 weeks but a couple of women were further along. One baby made an early appearance before the second class. He is 2 months older than my DD.

FelixFelix · 17/10/2014 09:11

I was around the same time as OP. We had one who had her baby half way through the course too Grin

FruitBadger · 17/10/2014 09:26

I was 30 weeks when it started and 34 at the end X

StrangeGlue · 17/10/2014 09:30

31 at the beginning 36 at the end. It depends if you do it condensed or spread out I think as to whether you'll have more people who are further along. It is based on edd.

splendide · 17/10/2014 09:32

36 by the end I think - 8 couples all due within a week or so of each other.

KateTheHuman · 17/10/2014 09:33

I will be 31+4 for mine. :)

KateTheHuman · 17/10/2014 09:34

And last one is 35+4. :)

LIG1979 · 17/10/2014 09:48

We were all 28-31 weeks at the start and 36-38 at the end. One didn't make it to the end although her dp did pop to the last session

QueenOfThorns · 17/10/2014 09:50

We did the one weekend one and I was about 36 weeks.

tiggy2610 · 17/10/2014 10:46

We've just booked onto the local NCT class for our 'due dates' and out first session isn't until 2nd December when I'll be 30 weeks

KittyandTeal · 17/10/2014 11:18

I was about 35 weeks but we did the wknd one. All our edd were within a month. As it is one was 8weeks early (she didn't attend the course as her dd had already been born but she is part of our group) and the latest edd was 2 weeks late so birthdays range from mid August to late oct!

cheshirem2b · 17/10/2014 12:53

I'll be 34 - 35 weeks when I do mine. Its 2 Saturdays and a Tuesday evening in between.

TinyMonkey · 17/10/2014 12:55

I'm starting at 34 weeks in a fortnight, will finish at 37 weeks. Bit concerned about not making it to the final class on breastfeeding!

MrsY87 · 17/10/2014 12:58

We started at 35 +2, the course was over 2 weekends and we didn't make it to the breast feeding or second class as DD arrived at 35 + 3!!

catg83 · 17/10/2014 13:35

Thanks all so much. Just had a break for lunch. Most people around 34-36 weeks with one lady not due till Jan but this is the only one she could get on. x

I was already in labour at my first class. Didn't make the rest of the lessons and went to the pre-birth meet up with 6 week old DTs in tow.

WanttogotoDisney · 17/10/2014 13:43

I was 32+3.

ELA88 · 17/10/2014 19:22

I'm not due till march but when I googled antenatal classes the PCT ones are expensive! Or is £160ish reasonable? I haven't a clue! Do we have to go to the classes? Xx

catg83 · 19/10/2014 15:46

NHS run their own class which is free but classes tend to be much bigger and less chances to ask questions etc. We wanted more info and to meet local mums to be. It was a really positive experience. Looking forward to the breast feeding class tomorrow. X

37 bang on started last Thursday - I was planning on travelling up to 36weeks to spend as much time with SO as possible who is working in the US - unfortunately this was kiboshed by low platelet levels. On average I'm a month ahead of everyone else, and my last class on breast feeding is on my due date - 6th Nov. SO won't be back til a week before due date, so I'm keeping everything crossed that Small One doesn't turn up early.

Doodledot · 19/10/2014 22:13

All 10 of us were 34-38

Doodledot · 19/10/2014 22:16

In our area almost everyone does it to make friends with a group of people due at the same time with 1st babies. It's not uncommon for these groups to still all be friends 5-10 years later. We are really close friends with 4 of ours 5 years on. The antenatal stuff is good but most people get much more out of it
