Hi
I think I need to see a midwife or doctor pregnancy related asap as I'm 25 weeks and and I'm bleeding heavily and having pain that's like contractions intensified by this panic attack.

Mw phone is off I think she's come to the end of her shift? Do I go in to a and e or do I phone the maternity hospital 24 hour line?

I would phone the maternity hospital (the number for triage should be on the front of your notes)

Try not to panic. Do you have someone with you.

Hope all is okay.

JennyBlueWren · 16/10/2014 17:06

Phone hospital who'll tell you whether to go to A&E or straight to them. Quicker than waiting in A&E only to be sent on to the maternity hospital.

Hope all is okay!

JennyBlueWren · 16/10/2014 17:06

Also do you have a means of getting in or might it need to be an ambulance?

NorwaySpruce · 16/10/2014 17:10

At 25 weeks, I'd phone the labour ward/delivery suite.

Anyone you speak to will propbably tell you to go in anyway, so if there is anyone with you, I'd get them to drive you there, while you keep trying to phone.

Otherwise, I'd call 999 for heavy bleeding at 25 weeks.

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/10/2014 17:10

Phone the maternity hospital. If your feeling faint and woozy through blood loss then call yourself an ambulance.

OhMjh · 16/10/2014 17:11

Get your notes and go in. Don't bother phoning, and demand to be seen as soon as you get there - this isn't something you can afford to wait around for.

Natalie1989xo · 16/10/2014 17:12

Bless you. I hope all is well. Sending Thanks

divingoffthebalcony · 16/10/2014 17:25

If you're bleeding heavily you should go straight to the maternity assessment unit or delivery suite. If you have no transport call 999.

Morgan127 · 16/10/2014 17:27

Thanks everyone I called the birthing suite and they want me in I have no way of getting in but to drive and they told me not to drive so they are sending someone to come and get me not sure if it will be an ambulance or not though

Gileswithachainsaw · 16/10/2014 17:35

I hope everything is ok. Easier said than done i know but please try and calm down And breathe normal. Get your notes together and chuck some clothes in a bag if you can.Open your door slightly so whoever arrives can come straight in. Don't forget your phone charger so you can contact who you need to once your there.

mandy214 · 16/10/2014 17:40
