Sharp Pain in lower left of bump/pelvis/groin area

Any advice/ideas gratefully received!

I'm 29 weeks tomorrow

Since Sunday I keep getting a sudden sharp pain in the area of my lower left of bump/pelvis/groin area. It's quite concentrated pain and doesn't spread down my leg or go in to my back. The sharp pain lasts about 10-20 seconds at a time and then goes as quickly as it came but seems to keep repeating for around 10 mins on and off but have lasted as long as an hour. Once the pains have subsided I am fine again but they are so strong they completely stop me in my tracks. No bleeding etc and baby is very active.

I'm at the GP on Friday for my flu jab so will be mentioning it then but in the meantime anybody got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I also got sharp pains in a similar area, I still do when I stand up sometimes or occasionally just mid walking and it stops me in my tracks. I'm 39 weeks and it has gradually built up. It used to feel like stretching/adjusting but I think the pain now is baby pressing down, head butting me basically!
I wouldn't worry but speak to your mw or gp about it. I had a chat with my midwife about where the pain was and when it was happening and it was nothing to worry about. Nearly there and baby still wiggling and I just walk like a cowboy now. X

You should definitely speak to your doctor, just in case.

BUT, just for some reassurance, I had something that sounds similar when I was around 27 or 28 weeks. The pain woke me up a few times, but it disappeared after a few days. It never worried me enough to see a doctor, because they weren't so frequent and the baby was still moving a lot, however please do speak to your doctor just to get it checked out.

Could be round ligament pains.

Worth speaking to doctor, but just for more reassurance - I got pain in exactly the same place starting around the same time as you, and it was jabs from the baby's hand/arm. I don't know exactly what it is it's pressing against that makes it so sore but there must be some internal organ or sensitive spot down there that's being affected (it's really sharp, not at all like when it moves in other places, when it isn't painful).

I'm 25+1 and have been having a bit of pain on the lower left side and my MW felt it and said it's where baby's bum is so might be the position of your baby too?! It's my first so I am a bit worried about any pain really but she said it was normal.

Thanks ladies! I'll ask the GP about it tomorrow when I'm there.
