I've heard that it's not good to use saunas or steam rooms whilst pregnant as they increase your body temperature too much. Is this the same for jacuzzis?

Hiya, Ja9. I work in a health club and we always reccomend that pregnant ladies do not use the sauna, steam room jacuzzi ot the spa pool. The temp isnt good for you or baby and the jets in the pool could be dangerous

Hi
my inlawas are scandanavian and dh's cousin started off her labour in a sauna.

I think if you are used to it its fine.

One of DPs friends seems rather too proud of the fact that he had his wicked way with his ex-dp in a jacuzzi when she was 33 weeks gone - she went into labour 3 days later! Her little boy is pretty healthy although he does have bad asthma.

Needless to say, "mate" of DP is not one of my favourite people (that was one of his more endearing qualities too! and granted, she wasn't exactly Miss Innocent either . . .) But that is all another story for another day!

Probably best to avoid them - and the steam rooms/jacuzzis etc.
