When did you grow out of your jeans in first pregnancy?

I'm currently 13+0 and still comfortably in my normal jeans and trousers (more so than a few weeks ago now the bloating has calmed down) but am wondering how soon this is likely to change. I'm going away from 16-18 weeks and imagine I'll need to be more creative or buy some new clothes by the time I leave so I'm not caught out abroad.

In your first pregnancy, how long were you comfortably able to continue wearing your jeans without bump band etc?

This is my second pregnancy (first one ended in miscarriage in June) and I am about 7 weeks 5 days and I am bloated! I can barely fit in my old jeans, they were a bit tight anyway, but now.....woah.
It doesn't help that I am paranoid that I am going to damage the baby by having tight jeans on. I know that is ridiculous ha! I just wear leggings 99% of the time :)

Well, I'm still in my normal jeans at 32 weeks pregnant but that's mostly because they button up very low (under the bump)
I started to actually show to others when I was about 18-20 weeks so maternity jeans could be an idea for then Smile

FrazzledFandango · 13/10/2014 18:55

I started putting a hair bobble round the button at 16 weeks and had to switch to maternity ones at 19. So all around the time you're looking at.

I moved in to Topshop Leigh under bump jeans about 16 weeks for comfort although one of my pairs still fitted me at the time. Still wearing at 30 weeks.

I am still in mine at 23 weeks, one pair getting a bit tight (but I think they were before?). They are lower ones though. Going to visit parents near civilisation at the weekend so may buy so maternity whilst near actual shops

First pg, 21 weeks
Second pg, about 3 hours after conception!

They were snug by about 14 weeks and by 16 weeks I was in a maternity jeans, although my bump was small - it was just comfier.

DanyStormborn · 13/10/2014 19:17

13 weeks for me but I didn't have a bump then just too fat for them.

Happilymarried155 · 13/10/2014 19:34

I was in them by 14 weeks, still haven't put on much wieght but my bump appeared out of no where and is growing quite fast! I second topshop Leigh jeans, they are so comfy x

magicalmrmistofelees · 13/10/2014 19:39

Not til about 24 weeks. However DD is now 11 months old and I still can't do those same jeans up Blush.

Whereisegg · 13/10/2014 19:41

Never, but they were low.

Alyx80 · 13/10/2014 19:42

About 22 weeks first time.

bellaboo88 · 13/10/2014 19:44

I can still probably fit in my jeans at 22w however, I first tried maternity on around 14w & love them, can't go back to normal! They're miles comfier & I can't stand anything pressing in - I'm all bump no blubber thx to morning sickness x

BananaToast · 13/10/2014 21:36

Thanks this is interesting - seems they might last me a bit longer than I expected.

I bought maternity jeans at around 21 weeks. My normal jeans still fit me but I found the maternity ones much more comfortable, especially when sitting down.

beccajoh · 13/10/2014 21:40

I was in mat jeans around 16 weeks but only for comfort. Could have managed without until about 22/23 weeks when I suddenly woke up one morning with a massive bump.

ChickenMe · 13/10/2014 22:20

I was out of them by about nine weeks because I was soooo bloated. I couldn't bear anything fitted against my stomach. I'm actually less bloated now (15+2) but belly is firmer. Just bought some maternity jeans at H&M. Pretty comfortable.
