Hi
I wrote a thread but it disappeared Confused
This is my first pregnancy. I had some spotting at week six but at 13.5 I started bleeding like a period. We were in the US so went to ER where they did a scan. All was fine.
The bleeding tailed off but came back 36hrs later-worse, with clots.
We went to ER again. Luckily the sonographer was able to do a proper scan, all was normal. No blood seen.
The bleeding tailed off but I still have a fair bit of brown blood on wiping. We saw the gynae here and again the scan was normal. She looked at my cervix and I bled a bit more after the speculum had been inserted.
I should mention I have three fibroids. One is a tennis ball size and right by the cervix. I have v heavy periods and am anaemic due to them.
Has anyone else had this? Anyone else with fibroids? Could it be because we DTD 36hrs before the bleed? (TMI) Please share your experiences as I feel alone - everyone I know had a text book pregnancy. I'm scared.
One good thing is I've not had any pains or cramps. Believe me, every tiny twinge is terrifying me though!!
Thanks

Im sorry you are having all this. I have no idea how to help but wanted to give you a bump. All I can say is that if something serious was wrong with the baby or you they should have picked it up with the scans? So could just be something minor and non related to pregnancy? Sorry I can't help xx

Hey, I had an unexplained bleed at 17 weeks. They thought I might have fibroids too, but it came to nothing. They've put it down to everything inside just growing and stretching and some blood leaking out, although it did take a few days to settle down. Now 22+2 weeks with twins, but it's made me really paranoid. Be reassured that your scans were fine though. Sometimes bleeds just happen. Me and Dh are now too paranoid to DTD incase it aggravates anything! Only 4 months to go.... Smile

Thanks for your replies and good wishes it makes me feel a bit better. Ninja we are the same-too scared of DTD and I'm also too scared to go to the gym (not so much of a hardship). Congratulations on your twins. Maybe it is the extra stretching as the fibroid is the same size as the baby atm?

Thanks cheese, that must have been so scary about bleeding for that long. I feel fed up with the sight of blood and it puts you off using the loo. I'm sorry about your twin.
I have got a consultants appointment next week so hopefully they will be able to shed some light on it. It'll be good if there are more scans as it's going to be hard waiting till my next one at 22weeks.
