Hi
I went to see Anaesthetist few days ago and would you please be kind to explain to me what does it mean walking epidural?
I did ask but still didn't fully understand.Does anyone have any experience?
Thank you

Possibly an ambulant or mobile epidural? It's where you are numb in the relevant area but you can still walk around. I was offered one (21 years ago yesterday!) by an anaesthetist from Jimmy's Hospital, but unfortunately it only numbed half of me so I then had to have another full one that confined me to bed.

I was told at the time that these are better for you and the baby, but then times might have moved on...

Thank you so much. You are great help,it's good to hear it from someone who had experience. I have another 5 weeks to think what is the best.Ideally jus G and A ...Smile

Tip - try to take in G & A BEFORE each contraction as it takes a few seconds to kick in!!!

I have two older DD (11 and 10) but at that time I didn't have option of walking epidural.
With first DD I had full epidural and it was not the best experience but with second DD I had only G&A,and it was painful of course, but I managed.
Now I have high BP and high BMI and I am bit scared ,I am actually panicking like I never did before. Not sure if it's normal.
I have this fear in me which is not helping..Sad
Thank you so much...Flowers
