Travelling to Hospital

I keep worrying about the journey to Hospital as this time I can't go to my local unit but have to travel to the next city. This is because of a previous huge PPH. Anyway, this journey could take an hour, especially if we hit rush hour and get stuck as it involves travelling right through the city centre. Obviously I don't want to get to the hospital too early but can't risk getting there late either due to the risk of hemorrhaging. This is my 3rd pregnancy so I don't anticipate a long labour either, just an average one hopefully. For those of you who have had a similar travelling time when did you leave for the Hospital, how far apart were your contractions at that point? Many thanks.
