We have a 2.3yr old dd called Jessica and are expecting another bubba in Jan. We don't know what sex it will be and are having another 'surprise'.

We have a boy name (Thomas), which is middle of the road, fairly conservative but can be shortened nicely and will go well with our Jess/Jessica.

We are stuck for another girl name in that vein that shortens well and goes with both Jessica and our H starting surname.

Bethany/Beth has been on the list, but I want to scour MN wisdom before we get 'sold' on any one name.

Many thanks in advance!

I think Elisabeth is a lovely, underused name.

I also love Mary, though that probably still sounds dated to people.

I have other close relatives called Elizabeth and Alice, so they are out sadly!

I love Bethany.

I know a Jessica with a sister called Annabelle, and another Annabel with a brother called Thomas!

Hate Bethany but like Elizabeth

A bit Welsh - but Bethan is a lovely, slightly more unusual alternative to Bethany
