20 week Ultrasound!

hi all so went to 20 week ultrasound and the sonography Spent ages doing measurements & trying to find gender, when she looked between the legs she couldn't find boy bits but said they could be hidden, she gave us 90% chance it was a girl but I'm still refusing to get excited about it because I'm petrified it was wrong. You could see what looked like a split between legs but she kept looking for boy bits and nothing showed up. I also learned baby too big for dates so could be further along than they expected so going back on 4 weeks for growth scan. I'm just frightened it'll say boy. My 4 boys so badly want a little sister and I really don't wanna burst their bubble with the news if they were wrong. Has anybody had a wrong ultrasound at 20 weeks when they say 90% positive?

I feel your anxiety, I have my 20 week scan next Tuesday and everyone is predicting a boy which really isn't helping, we already have 3 girls. Sorry no help, how you find out for sure next scan x

Thanks, I was suprised she took a good hour mesuring up I think it was because baby was bigger than she expected but she went over the legs a few times and it did look like girly parts but she did say only 90%. I know how you feel I never found out with my boys and my 4th everybody said he was a girl and when he came out I was slightly disappointed because I expected a girl. Love him too peices though.

I don't think they are allowed to say it definitely is one or the other

Could you pay for a second opinion? That's what I did

I dunno if much point going back in 4 weeks anyway for growth scan gotta got another 2 scans lined up after that too. She did say no sign of boy bits but I'm still worried.

Hey lozzy my cousin had a baby last year and they told her they were 90% sure it was a boy! She kitted out her beautiful blue nursery then gave birth to a gorgeous girl! I'm sure they'll be able to clarify at the next scan though, baby should have moved about a bit and they might get a better angle xx

I hope so, I'm really hoping it's right, I've gone and told all our friends and family its 90% positively a girl lol. I never found out with my boys so I didn't know what too look at but it would have been nice if she pointed out where she thought the girl bits were x
