Percentage of gender certainty at scan???

We had our Anomaly scan today (I'm 20+6)

The Sonographer told us she was 95% certain it is a girl, as she could see the 3 wgite lines of some sort?!

I have come home though, feeling like she was wrong as the legs were pretty close together by the looks of it! We have 2 boys already and I just can't get it in my head that I can actually have a girl?!

Would she have used the percentage of 95 if she wasn't so sure? Or would she have used a lesser figure?! Hmm Confused

95% is the standard national average percentage of certainty I believe. 3 lines is to do with the labia.

Oh and my mom was incredibly shocked when I was a girl, as shed had three boys first. She said she had to double check because she didn't believe the Dr that had just delivered me could be right!

My sonographer said 75% sure it would be a DD, it was.

I think 95% sounds pretty certain to me - congratulations on your healthy baby-most-likely-a-girl!

My first gender scan was 80% boy.

Went back the next week for confirmation, was 99% girl.

I dunno!

My scan was 51% sure it was a girl Grin

She was

We had a private scan at 16 weeks. Sonographer said 2 girls and 18 weeks later we had.....2 girls!

Congratulations on your pink bump!

I had ultrasound yesterday and told 90% it was a girl because no boy bits, think I even saw the three lines but because I already have 4 boys and had three miscarriages between them I'm petrefied she got it wrong, I can't get my head around it either.

Lozzy where do you live? Were your baba's legs fairly open on scan? See as far as I could see, mine were together, so I'm not sure what's making her think a girl?! Confused

My hospital is bedford, I don't remember the babys legs being closed but she said it's harder to tell a girl because of the chance a boy is hiding his bits but she said 90% sure it was a girl, because no bits where visible to her at the time and she did scan a fair few times even had to empty my bladder and try again, she had me in there for about an hour just looking, I think I saw the lines but still not letting myself get too excited and buy pink, gotta go back in 4 weeks so will be asking again.
