Cramping in pregnancy after C-Sec

17 weeks pg with DC2 and suffering really uncomfortable 'period pain' type cramps. I had a C-Sec with DC1 and was wondering if that was likely to make cramps more of an issue due to scar tissue. It's a good scar - almost invisible and had no problems with healing, but nevertheless it is there now and I don't remember these cramps being so noticeable last time round (and I had considerably more time to navel gaze with that pregnancy!)

Would appreciate some reassurance as I'm getting a touch paranoid now. Thanks.

Have you spoken to your MW?

Not yet - thought I'd tap the great wisdom of the Mumsnet Borg (as DH refers to you all) first.

Obviously, you must mention it to your midwife but to put your mind at rest until then, I had awful cramping with my second pregnancy.
I had 10 years between DS1 emergency c-section and being pregnant with DS2, I was very, very neurotic whilst pregnant with no.2 (various reasons) so tended to panic slightly but my consultant reassured me by telling me cramping early on in any subsequent pregnancy is caused by normal stretching and growing of the uterus and my continued cramping was the c-section scar tissue and again was very common.
I felt quite reassured (till the next thing to panic me! Wink).
Hope this helps.

Thank you. Just waiting for MW to call me back - we've been playing phone tag :)

Appreciate the reassurance though
