Very low down throbbing & pain 38 weeks

I'm 38+4 and for the last 2 nights have been getting lots of movement from baby very low down with pain that takes my breath away. It feels like he is going to literally drop out or my waters are going to go.
If I put my hand on my fanny ann as I call it I can actually feel the baby pushing it, like it's throbbing.
I also have slight lower back pain.
Lots of mucous but no bloody show yet.
At GP app a few days ago he said baby's head was engaged.
Anyone else get this?

That was pretty much me right before DS was born at 38+5. Smile

Really?! Here's hoping as I'm over it now!

Yes I got this, although I'm 39 + 5 and still no baby so it's not a guarantee that anything is happening. Hope it does though x

I never had a bloody show either time OP, just the mucous plug. DS1 born at 36wks, DS2 born at 38wks. Maybe keep the midwife' phone number to hand just in case things get interesting tonight!

Nothing progressed last night - I'm beginning to dread bedtime now though as it's so painful!

Hot water bottle on 'lady garden' area - helps. I've had this for the last week or so... 41 weeks today, and still nothing.

Oh my Ohthegoats I thought you would have gone into labour by now! Good luck, it must surely surely be around the corner for you now!

Fissa, sorry you didn't go into labour. I'm feeling it too and it's not nice. Hope you manage some sleep tonight. I'm finding that a couple of extra pillows between my legs are helping.

Is it your first? If not I think it is common for baby to engage early. DS2 was for weeks and was very low+ SPD=agony, extremely slow third trimester... I was even told, I was engaged, dilated, soft, ready to go, surely within 24 hours of sweep... Only needed to be induced a week later!! So who knows:P

This is my 2nd! Don't remember any of this with my DD - this one is a boy Smile
Let the throbbing begin!
