Tried and failed to shave my legs this morning. Is waxing ok in pregnancy? And how often do you get it done?

Yes waxing is fine Smile I get a wax every 4/5 weeks. Full leg and bikini line. It's a little more sensitive than usual but it's safe.

I can't shave at all now. DH laughed at my attempt to do my bikini area the other day and asked if I was "trying a new style" Hmm

I'm dying to get a wax but don't think I can inflict my current hair situation on the unsuspecting girls at the waxing salon Shock

I got waxed in pregnancy. I even got my bikini waxed whilst in early labour. Grin

Is hair removal cream ok?? I can't bare to be waxed to much of a wimp!!

TheScenicRoute · 05/10/2014 20:36

Waiting to see answer to last question. :)

The veet website implies that creams are ok...

Not sure about the increased sensitivity though so waiting to hear some first hand stories Smile

I've tried veet and it was fine - although with bikini line I couldn't really see where the cream was going and the results were rather interesting.

I'm 31 weeks and managed to do my legs/bikini the other day but with great difficulty - I'll just need to get over my paranoia about my fat, hairy pregnant body and get a professional wax job!

Loveallmyboys · 05/10/2014 22:27

Such a lot of guesswork goes into the 'gardening' these days! Amazed I haven't shaved off anything vital yet!
A couple of friends said they got their OHs to shave their bits for them! No way would I let a bloke near me with a razor blade! I've seen the damage they do to their own faces!!!

Cullercoats88 · 06/10/2014 12:23

loveallmyboys I find that strangely too intimate hahha not sure if I would want hubby to do that!!

kitkat321 · 06/10/2014 14:15

The though of DP shaving me makes me cringe! I'd rather pay a complete stranger!!

ohthegoats · 06/10/2014 15:41

I shaved my legs last night in the bath by lying right on my side and hooking my leg up as far as I could reach it sort of behind me/to my side on the side of the bath. I had to brace my other leg at the end of the bath. Didn't do an amazing job, but it's OK.

Boyfriend then did my lady garden for me using his beard trimmer.

Pregnantagain7 · 06/10/2014 16:06

Please please be careful with hair removal creams, during my last pregnancy I decided to get the lot off with veet. This is something I have done loads of times and I don't have sensitive skin but I ended up with a chemical burn. OMG it was agony had to go to the out of hours doctor. Very embarrassing and very bloody painful!! This time I bought a bikini trimmer and just did the best I could.

My sister in law got waxed down below shortly before she gave birth. She says it's one of the best things she ever did. Her exact words were " when the nurse came towards me waving a nasty cheap Bic razor, I couldn't have been happier I was all sorted out."

Snowmonkey77 · 09/10/2014 08:43

OH has offered to shave my legs so will be taking him up on that! Last week he cut my toenails and did s much better job than my usual efforts.

I would be worried by waxing as mt skin seems super sensitive right now - anyone find that to be the case?
