Does your DH/OH know how many weeks you are?

My DH hasn't a clue! He loses track really quickly. I test him sometimes and hes always way out. I am 26 weeks and asked him a couple of days ago how many weeks am I now and he said 30! 4 weeks out.

How are the other men doing?

Oh I don't know but I bet my DH doesn't! I'll test him later Smile.

PlumFairy2014 · 03/10/2014 16:26

My DH knows the due date. You would think from that he could work it out, but he was the same if I'm honest. I was a bit offended when I first realised so used to forward the weekly NHS email so he knew what was going on and felt more a part of it... even if he didn't know it in weeks.

I've only got a couple of weeks to go now though so he knows all about it now!:)

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 03/10/2014 16:27

DH knows, but only because he is out in the piss tomorrow nught and wanted to calculate it so he knows whether he can really let his hair down or play it safe.

In all fairness, up until about two weeks ago I used ti have to check my pregnancy App, so I dont judge him for not knowing!

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 03/10/2014 16:28

Does it matter to you that he doesn't know? As long as he knows when the baby is due...

Mind you, I speak as one who rarely kept track myself.

LittlePink · 03/10/2014 16:31

No it doesn't bother me at all haha. I just find it interesting to see if he knows or not or was wondering if the other OHs were the same.

Ok.Grin Well then the answer is that neither of us remembered until about 37 weeks. Grin

ApocalypseThen · 03/10/2014 16:43

Well he gets tellt daily. So probably not.

ohthegoats · 03/10/2014 16:43

Since I'm almost 41 weeks and NO. FUN. AT. ALL, he knows where I'm at. Ha.

hartmel · 03/10/2014 16:49

Dh asked me to write it down on a wall calendar. So he wouldn't feel embarrassed about asking me everytime. Lol..

He knows the due date. And I'm now 37 weeks and he starts counting the days till due date and deep in his heart hoping that the baby will come around 38 weeks as he will be going on paternity leave for a min of 3 month.
First reason: he hates his job
Second reason: we have a 12 1/2 month old son who is very clingy lately and can't walk on his own yet.

DecaffTastesWeird · 03/10/2014 17:00

Haha ohthegoats, yes I can imagine when I get over the 41 mark (which I am convinced I will) the number of weeks will be emblazoned on poor DH's brain. He really hates me saying "I'm growing a person" when I demand food, not to do the dishes, the remote control... Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 03/10/2014 18:09

Yes DH knows. We read the MN week-by-week pregnancy thingummy together every Monday (when 'my week' starts).

Mind you, it is our first and it took ages trying and hasn't been an easy pg, so he is quite involved/ interested.

JennyBlueWren · 03/10/2014 18:11

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few weeks ago my husband was saying I was 20 weeks. When told I was only 17 he complained that it was taking a long time -I challenged him to do it quicker!
Don't think it helps that when we went for our 12 week scan we weren't actually quite 10 weeks.

JennyBlueWren · 03/10/2014 18:12

My husband asks what size fruit it is! I also read him the descriptions of development. He was really pleased when it said about webbed fingers and toes -he thought that came from my side of the family!

katiegee · 03/10/2014 18:20

he probably doesn't have a clue, although he knows when baby is due and could probably work it out from there. to be fair to him though, I find it difficult to keep track these days. At the beginning I know exactly have many weeks and days I was, right now I'm struggling to remember if I am 30 or 31 weeks!

FruitBadger · 03/10/2014 18:31

DH can usually have a good guess but has a tendency to be out by 2/3 weeks, thinking I'm not as far along as I really am. Most of the time he gets the due date right but he has been out by a few days a couple of times and does normally look at me when he answers the question, just in case he's getting it wrong! Grin

A colleague at work has just become a Father for the third time, he genuinely had no idea when the baby was due, we had to help him work it out when he was trying to book paternity leave. We guessed based on the time off he'd taken for the 20 week scan, he had no idea his wife must have been around 20 weeks at that time, what the scan was for or why he should go with her Shock

MrsW27 · 03/10/2014 21:02

Sometimes I forget and have to ask DH Blush he's always thought about it in weeks though as he's a lecturer and I'm due in his 'week 12' of the term so has had to make lots of arrangements for cover for if baby arrives early or in that week.

LBNM19 · 03/10/2014 23:39

I tell mine every Wednesday when I'm a week further haha so he defiantly knows xx

Wobblebeans · 04/10/2014 12:37

DP has an app on his phone that updates every Wednesday that he likes to read and know what's going on.
If he didn't I don't think he'd have a clue tbh, though he does know the due date and keeps going "Ooohhh only 8 weeks left" etc. yes DP. I know. Hmm

theonewiththenoisychild · 04/10/2014 16:04

my oh does have a rough idea but i dont think he is keeping track. ita our 3rd baby and we had 1 mc between our 2 dc's and this time we lost a twin but have a healthy singlwton going well im 15 weeks tomorrow but all he is bothered about is that baby is safe so he tries to make it to all the appointments so he knows how many weeks by the high risk schedule Grin

ElleDubloo · 04/10/2014 17:52

For most of pregnancy, OH didn't know how many weeks I was, unless it was a major landmark (like the 12 week scan or the 20 week scan). He now knows because I'm 37 weeks and we keep talking about how she might come at any minute.

He has a vague idea. He also knows my due date. Tbh I can't remember myself very well.

TinyMonkey · 04/10/2014 18:21

Just asked him... '30 and 4?'

Bang on! so proud.

LifesUPandLifesDOWN · 05/10/2014 03:38

I update him daily so he better bloody know lol

Cobo · 06/10/2014 10:51

I have trouble remembering myself, so no, I'd imagine he has no idea. :)
