according to that I am having a boy..off to find some other predictor type things...lol

Was just talking about this today and remembering when I was PG on DS. Went to a friend's house - there were 5 of us all PG and we all had it done. Can't remember all teh details but I know one friend did it on me twice and it went both directions! She reckoned it was a boy and would be gay!!!

pmsl budababe..I did this with both the others but with ds we knewe the sex and both times it was right. Just looked up other alleged signs and all point to a boy.Dont care either way but good way to fill a boring night..lol

Which way did the ring go for a boy? My stepmother is adamant I'm having a girl, but I'm sure she got the ring direction wrong!

I heard the heartbeat thing and once it sounded like galloping horses and once like a train, so I guess it could be a hermaphrodite (sp?!)!!!

The ring test and all the date predictors etc etc told me No3 was a girl.The heartburn and the shape of the bump were pretty conclusive too.(So I was told)

What difference does the sound of the heartbeat make? i thought mine sounded like a galloping horse.

apparently boys routinely have a faster heartbeat than girls - not in my case - dd2 always had a fast heartbeat - so much so that the GP asked me if I knew what the old wives tale was. ( unfortunately dd2 was shy during scans and so revealed nothing!)

FWIW - they did a casual study here with 5 women and they tried a number of 'old wives tales' to predict gender - can't remember if they used the chinese chart. The most successful amongst this group of women was the hair and ring test...... It got 4 out of 5 right.

Thanks for that link, sleepycat. Oddly enough, I found a site last night that featured the Chinese gender prediction calendar. It was different to the one in your link though as it asked for exact time and dates of conception etc. Anyway, I've tried them both and one says boy while the other says girl they've got a 50% chance of getting it right, I suppose!!!

Nemo.... another good predictor is how fast your hair grows.
If you shave your legs and it grows back quickly (noticably quick..i.e quicker than normal) its likely to be a boy.
I have had two girls and a boy and it worked like that for me.
(my midwife told me that one)

Liv was galloping horse, all gender predictions said girl which was confirmed at scan.

This one - 12 weeks scan heartbeat 164bpm, chinese predictor said girl, scan confirmed girl

LOL! I was told that train = girl as boys heartbeat's are slower than girls!!!! Daft, innit!!

didn't do any predictions with DD1 but was convinced all the way through that she was a boy (was told that bumps all up front are boys and that was the way i was carrying).
This time my midwife has done the thread and needle test (is this the same as hair and ring?) and has said another girl (smile).
Also am carrying up front again.

mmm the hair on legs is groinwg quicker...

It is just fun to guess..obviously will be happy either way.

The ring thing is if it swings then its a boy
if it moves in circles its a girl.
