MATB1 - Private Obstretician

Hello

I am seeing an obstetrician privately and not an NHS midwife. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the obstetrician will issue a MATB1 form?

Yes, he/she will do this and also the paternity leave one (SC3 I think?) and also sign your maternity exemption certificate (which gives you free NHS prescriptions). In my experience, with a private Obst you actually have to ask for these things, whereas I think an NHS midwife would do it as a matter of course. Perhaps call your Obst's secretary as she can probably get it all sorted for you.
