Hi All

Please help. i am in my second pregnancy and found out at my 20 week scan that the placenta is 'low laying'. i had the same thing in my first pregnancy. And didn't think much of it until at 30 weeks i had a huge bleed and was rushed to hospital. my placenta was now a grade 3 - fully covering my cervix. my son was born at 32 weeks by emergency c- section as i had a futher bleed. I was told that i was unlikely to have this again but i now feel so scared to know my placenta is again low. Has anyone else had PP twice but it corrected the 2nd time??

Please help. xx

Hi, sorry I can't help with what your asking but hope you don't mind if I ask you a couple of questions? I have an anterior low lying placenta picked up at 20 week scan on friday. Saw consultant today who said based on its current grading (3-4) and the risk of placenta acrevia (Had a section 16 months ago) he would expect me to have my baby by 36 weeks. He said there is a 25% chance it could shift but he doesn't think it will Sad Depending on outcome of my 28 week scan it could be 32 weeks when I deliver too (if bleeing or pa), or earlier....... Terrified!!! When your son was born at 32 weeks did he need any special care or a longer stay in hospital? Did they give your baby steroids before hand? Also when you describe your bleed how bad was it? We're expecting ds3 and this time I am so scared and emotional x
