Without rolling around from side to side like a seal in a desperate attempt to get comfy every single night.

Another awful nights sleep here too. Used my wedge pillow for first time last night because if I lie on my side my bumps drags down and it hurts but the wedge got launched half way thru the night as it wasn't helping. I just had to drag it with me every time I rolled over and I got fed up repositioning it! I also keep waking on my back and thinking oh no im on my back as I have read it's dangerous to sleep on your back! I do have a dream genie which I might get out tonight but I remember from dd that didn't make a whole lot of difference either! It just takes more time to get back to sleep as you have to take it with you every time you roll over. Just. Want. To. Sleep!!!!

Newborn sleep is definitely better than pregnant sleep, if that's any consolation- despite what people say.

ruth1104 · 04/10/2014 14:48

Yes... full of the cold as well which doesnt help with the general feeling exhausted. And then people say annoying things like, 'get your rest now! you don't know what's going to hit you!' Thanks weebairn that is reassuring, I do imagine that 3am with your baby is better than 3am because you're so bloody sore and uncomfortable...

I had the same from about 20 weeks so bought a single bed memory foam topper (as DH needs a firm mattress with his bad back!) this saved my hips, and am still using it! Dd is 6 weeks... Hope all goes well with baby op.

The physio recommended putting a folded hand towel under my bump which has really helped the strain on my hips. I didn't like being surrounded by pillows so the towel worked really well. The joys of PGP!

Weebairn, after another bad night's sleep, that is so great to hear! Thank you!

weebairn · 05/10/2014 09:50

I was up* half the night with my baby (5 days old) but it was still far better quality sleep than when pregnant. And you get CUDDLES!

*I wasn't UP as in out of bed, I don't get out of bed!

Also you have to wee all the time after birth, but unlike pregnant wees, they are giant shirehorse wees - so satisfying!

Had the privilege of being woken up by a nosebleed before 4am. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Anyone got any tips for getting rid of stiff legs and leg cramps at night?!

ruth1104 · 10/10/2014 10:00

mrsh other than getting up and pacingAngry i found a banana before bed seems to help cramp and 4.30 tummy rumblings! (just me?)
