Measuring 3 weeks ahead

Hi everyone
I have been to mw and am measuring 3 weeks ahead. I am 24 weeks and am measuring 27. The mw said if I am still off the scale at the next appointment I will need a glucose test. I terrified now that I have GD and am catastrophising about worst case scenario. I did not measure bigger when I was preg with ds. Does anyone have experience of measuring bigger and it not being because of GD? Thanks

Yep, I'm huge! Not sure how I compare with weeks but when they mark my chart I'm always well over the normal range area. Not been sent for gd test surprisingly, although I know I'm not as dh is type 1 and so I've checked myself a few times with his kit.

Could you contact your midwife and explain your anxieties and ask to be sent for a gd test sooner? That way you'll know for sure sooner and won't spend the next 3 weeks worrying about it?

It's not really a big problem if you do have gd, it's just good to know so you can adjust your diet, etc to help keep you and baby healthy.

Hope you're ok.

Thank you for replying. I may ring my midwife later. Hopefully it is just the position he is in rather than because he is a whopper. I may just stop eating sugar until I know for sure. Thanks again

I have just been diagonised with GD. and its not as bad as I thought. you get weekly monitoring, and told how to check your blood sugar etc. It could just be he is lying in a awkward position!! :)

I'm measuring the same & have had a gtt at 28w and this week (34w) a blood test and both have come back negative for gd, I just happen to grow large babies ds1 was 9lb 10!
