just wondering as with both DS's I said I wouldn't tell anyone until I'd hit 12 weeks - but both times couldn't wait that long and ended up telling people anyhow.

I've already told a few close friends about this pg - and I'm only 4+1........and again don't think I'm going to be able to wait until 12 weeks to make the 'announcement'

I have to tell people quite early on as I quickly get incapacitated with hyperemesis and rely on them for help, but if you are happy and excited, tell them now anyway! (Congratulations by the way)

Congratulations!!!

I don't remember when we did, we waited a while not because we wanted to be sure or any other valid reason but because we both knew my MIL would fall on me like a pile of bricks... about 3-4m I believe.

err.. told one person at 3w5d

not one for keeping secrets, me

(congratulations, again)

congrats! i only told my sister early on, about 5 weeks, for moral support. But then didn't tell anyone else at all until 12 week scan - being super-cautious i guess

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 27/09/2006 17:19

that's a relief tutter - I just know that lots of people want to keep it quiet in the early weeks in case they miscarry but even with those worries in my head I still can't keep my mouth shut

i'm a pragmatist qoq - figured that it would make no difference either way, and would have told them had it ended early. tbh i wanted their support as i'd lost 3 pgs previously.

it was only a couple of close friends that i told, but most people figured it out soon enough.

that's my kind of thinking too (although never had a miscarriage yet....)
