Nub theory...I can't seem to see the nub though!

Hi all

Had my first scan today, I'm 13 weeks exactly :)

I've heard of this nub theory and know its not proven to be accurate or anything, but wondered if anyone had any guesses? Only problem is I can't seem to make out the nub!

One of the guys at work thinks girl as his little girls scan looked exactly the same!

Any other guesses please?

I can see it in the second picture, it's a little horizontal white line jutting out where the leg meets the body.

Ideally though, the baby needs to be lying flat rather than with a curved spine, as it affects the angle of the nub. I'm not really sure if you can tell either way from that photo.

Yea in the second picture you can see a faint straight line, and if it is parallel to the spine it is an indicator that it is a girl! That is my guess :D

Hi Ive just had my 21wk scan . According to nub theory a girl and skull theory a boy . Its a BOY (my 3rd !!)

Congrats RubyBoo! I suppose its always going to be 50/50 so you can't go too wrong!

I'd say from dodgy nub guess and v guessy skull theory guess that it's a girl!

Hi just had my first scan, I am 13 weeks and 2 days. Any predictions to what I’m having of the scan pictures?

It’s hard to tell because the baby isn’t lying flat to see the nub. But I’m curious. Do let me know any guesses you get because I have a similar scan
