Morning sickness, getting me down

I'm 9+4 today and I thought I was starting to feel better. But I keep bringing my evening meal back up and I've lost 9lbs (possibly more as I haven't checked for a while).

Today I feel sea sick again and its really starting to get me down now. I have some pills (cyclizine) but I don't know if I should take them. I've avoided it until now as I thought I was getting better.

At what point should I be worrying? I haven't done anything apart from spend time on the sofa for weeks. I can't go out because I'll need to be sick. No appetite and when I do eat I feel full quickly.

It's just depressing!

I hear your pain. I'm exactly same 9+3 and stuck in bed feeling sick & super emotional. It's rubbish innit? I feel cabin-feverish too - work at home in day & really sick in evenings so hardly been out the house for ages. Hoping it will pass soon but in the meantime hooray for mumsnet as a place to have a good anonymous moan! Chin up!

Hi both- I'm exactly the same and have been since around 5/6 weeks. I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow. The constant nausea (24/7) makes me feel stressed and down. I have tried everything; ginger biscuits, ginger tea, ginger 'beer', mint imperial sweets, sitting on paper (?!), and hm latest is wearing sea bands. I have had them on constantly since Saturday and they haven't worked. I can't get in to the doctors until
Wednesday but even so, I'm going to have to sit there and explain everything to them, just like I have done almost every day to everyone else. I feel like I just want to sit and cry! I'm not sure about taking anti-sickness tablets (side effects etc) and plus I've read so many times that they haven't even worked for people. Let's hope the nausea and sickness stops for us all soon! X

Also siarie you asked when you should be worrying. I think when you can't keep any food or drink down, you should see your doctor. They say you'll become dehydrated and you might have hyperemesis grandavarium (I think that's how you spell it) x

It's just so depressing, it makes me want to just go back to normal? Which I know I'll regret thinking once I feel better.

I can keep water down and some
food. But I'm not getting enough calories because I always throw up the big meals (thrown up my dinner again this evening).

I didn't know it was going to be this hard, you know?

Hello, I'd be a little worried if you can't keep anything down. I was being sick 20-30 times in a day and went to the doctor for anti sickness pills. He wouldn't prescribe me any as he said he doesn't give pills to people in the first trimester. He took a urine sample and sent me straight to hospital as it had ketones. The hospital put me on a drip and gave me anti sickness drugs through the IV immediately. I was in hospital 3 days on a drip and on discharge they gave me cyclizine also. It hasn't stopped me being sick completely. But it's bought the vomiting down to 3-4 times a day. I think you should see a doctor before it gets really bad. I'm about 8 weeks.

How are you feeling Siarie? I had a doctors appointment this morning. I explained how awful I was feeling, but as they were running late and I was running late for work i felt I was rushing so I didn't really explain everything and forgot to tell them a lot of things. The doctor has signed me off from work for 2 weeks. She thinks it will get better between 12-14 weeks but I am not naive and I know that unfortunately some of us can have it for longer or even all the way through Sad I'm the same with large meals so I am only eating little and often. And a very small dinner. The doctor said as long as I am eating something, and mainly drinking, then the baby should still be healthy, even if I have lost a little bit of weight. Although that's a massive comfort, physically I still feel awful and drained x
