I've been resting in bed for about 4 hours now and I'm getting regular braxton hicks with what I can only describe as mild period pain which is radiating around to my back.

Could this be an early sign? I'm only 36 weeks and this is my first.

Could be, keep timing them, if they get closer and more intense you could be ready to go. Is your bag packed?

Could well be. BH tend to slow/stop after a bath so id suggest a warm bath and couple of paracetamols and then try and get some sleep.

Are your bags good to go?

I had something similar just before the 41 weeks. DS was born 36 hours later.

But it may well be a false alarm.

I'd check with hospital because AFAIRemember the lungs are not fully formed yet.

I'm 36 + 5 and I've also been getting bad lower back pain on and off I think it maybe braxton hicks never had with my first xx

Well I managed to fall asleep and nothing happened!!

I bet this will be me for the next month... Constantly looking for signs!!

Glad you got some sleep. Make sure you keep an eye on any 'constipation' type pains too. Had those (so badly I ended up shouting 'oww' quite a lot) without any pain in my tummy with DC1 and it turned into full on intensive labour very very quickly Wink.

I'm sorry to say I've had this for about 3 weeks now… (due tomorrow)

JustMarriedBecca · 29/09/2014 11:38

I'm sorry to say I have this daily for 5-6 weeks now. I'm 41 weeks. I know it's doing something though as apparently I'm 2cm dilated.

The midwife looked at me when she told me like I should be pleased. I figured out why they don't have anything heavy in those assessment rooms.....so there is nothing to pick up and throw.

I've continued to have them off and on! But nothing more than a very mild period pain type ache.

Part of me likes to think that this is indeed the onset of labour and I just have an incredibly high pain threshold! Haha! I'll keep dreaming!!
