I know this sounds ridiculous but I'm nearly 12 weeks and I'm close to giving up.

I've been so sick and practically bed ridden for 5 weeks now and a few weeks ago I developed sinusitis that I'm in agony with. I can hardly sleep and I just want to cry all the time.

OH is at his wits end with me I think and I'm feeling very unsupported and a mess. I just don't know what to do. :(

Hang in there, it'll start getting better very soon. The first trimester can be very tough as pregnancy hormone levels ramp up fast and have all kinds of unwanted side effects. Once the placenta takes over, which will be happening pretty much at the moment, you will start to feel much more normal. I had a miserable first 12 weeks with this pregnancy, but now at 21 weeks feel pretty good, if a bit tired (and the tiredness is largely down to dealing with a very active 18 month old).

Has your DH read any pregnancy books aimed at partners? That would help him understand what you are going through.

This is pretty good. It's very funny, so an easy read, but gets all the relevant info across.

You have my sympathies, I absolutely hated the 1st Trimester.
I honestly thought I couldn't cope for any longer (I have 4 other children to care for). It'll soon pass Huni, do what you can, rest as much as you can. I'm now 20+1 and those dreadful first wks r now a distant horrid memory! Chin up Hun

Hang in there. I have sinusitis too and everything I was reading said it would last all pregnancy, and at 22 weeks it's still here, but it's SO much better than it was. Sleeping on two pillows is all I have to do to ease the symptoms. My husband says I snore but I'm a asleep so that does t bother me Wink

What they said! I felt like utter sh*te in the 1st tri. Hang in there chuck, there's light at the end of that crappy tunnel!

I kept saying to my other half "I don't think I can do this "..... First trimester was so tough ... Get into a boxset, chill in bed , sleep as much as you can x

Yep my first tri was awful. I cried all the time and felt so guilty about how much I hated being pregnant. I woke up the day I turned 14 weeks and had some will to live out of no where and other than tiredness I have felt so much better, I'm now 22+5. Just hang in there :)

Yes yes yes. I had no idea that first trimester would be so horrific; I felt very ungrateful that I was having such a dreadful time because we'd been trying for so long, and at one point I really considered a termination because I just felt I couldn't cope with how bad I felt. But now at 27 weeks I can barely remember it! Hang on in there, but go to the doctor if you feel you need help with the sickness or your mental health, or anything, as often there's some advice or treatment they can offer you to make it easier.
Good luck and congratulations :)
