This week I have found out we are expecting twins. I am experiencing an array of different emotions ranging from delighted to terrified and everything in between.
This is going to be an exciting and emotional challenge which we will fully embrace.
I just wondered if anyone had any links to a twins chat or similar I could access? Whilst I know plenty friends and family who have children or/and are pregnant I don't know anyone close with twins so feeling on our own with this a bit.
Thanks x x

I have 20 yr old twins. I found out at 15w, cried in the scan room, nearly drove under and ambulance on the way home, and DH and I failed to sleep all night. It all seemed quite disasterous, especially as we already had a DS who was not very good at sleeping and eating, and no family nearby.

We got a cleaner and a dishwasher, DTs fed well and slept through before their brother. It was really hard work, especially the early years. I had good advice from people in my local twins club and TAMBA.

They are the best thing that ever happened to me (apart from DS who is also the best thing ever Wink )

Congratulations!

Join Tamba, there is a lot of information on their forums (past and present).

I remember my 13 week scan well, I cried! My fraternal girls are two.

I was showing really early! By 12 weeks I looked obviously pregnant, but it's my second so I assumed it was just crap tummy muscles.

I looked full term at 28 weeks. 5 weeks later and there are very few clothes available Grin

I showed earlier than previous pregnancies but that may be also down to the fact I've been pregnant before. I still had quite a neat bump throughout, no jokey comments about ' is it twins' which was a bit of a shame Smile

Hi 2ontheway Congratulations! I know the feeling well! I've joined TAMBA and found some if their info helpful. Also mumsnet is a brill source for asking anything!
It's such an exciting but shocking experience to hear you're expecting twins isn't it - I was in shock for days! Now really looking forward to it.
I'm on the hunt for a good twins book - can anyone recommend?

Hi looking for abit of advice anyone thats had twins so 16.3 wks pregnant with non ID twins. 12 weeks scan everything fine no concerns at all babies both doing well. Then 16 weeks app midwife was very nice and then i saw the consultant she came in only for a few minutes and was just so negative told me that i was high chance of miscarrying due to being 2. And that that chance would be there throughout and then also said that at some point my body will say no more and basically get to its ‘growing’ limit and i will go into preterm labour. This all just seemed to be based on the fact its twins and nothing else and i left so upset ...... just need abit of reassurance really. She was just very blunt and negative and at no point was she anything else but that! :(

@fifigo89 this is a really old thread. There is a thread for twins 2020 that's recent. Also all twin pregnancies are high risk and always come before 40 weeks so try not to worry any multiple pregnancy is treated at high risk if everything looks well at 16 weeks that's really positive :)
