Hecca your parents have to find out at some point and in all honesty I think most parents would rather know their daughter was going through such an emotional and worrying time

Jamrollypolly · 28/09/2014 15:35

Well went first thing and got a one step digital pregnancy test and it said not pregnant. Phew! Note to self be more careful! Still feel strange and still no period. Will try again in a few days if no AF.

Hope you are ok jam. I am guessing you would prefer a no? Fingers crossed for you, but either way you will work it out.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 00:57

I live in Tennessee sykadelic. And 3pigsinablanket i cant let my parents know because they will kick me out so i need to get more money together before i tell them.

SweetsForMySweet · 29/09/2014 01:10

Hecca you need to see a doctor if you had a bleed, you may still be pregnant. The test will still be positive even if you think you miscarried because the test detects the pregnancy hormone which will stay raised for some time even if you miscarried. Don't forget to take a folic acid supplement, it is important to help prevent birth defects.
Jam First response is meant to be more sensitive than clear blue so should pick up quicker.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 02:24

But i cant let my parents find out about my pregnancy. I will be kicked out like my sister was when she was 17. I dnt hve enough money right but when i do then i can tell them but idk when thtll be.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 04:29

Plus i have a baby bump also. I cant be more than 3 months. Another reason why i think its twins since its all goin so fast. And im wondering if the bleeding i had was implantation and if it couldve been heavier since i am most likely having twins???

Think I might be pregnant

Heccabecca, it's difficult to understand what you want. You are pregnant. You must see a doctor. No point in speculating as to whether you're having twins. In this part of the world, it's hard to see how seeing a doctor would mean telling your parents. You need to go to the school nurse/counsellor today.

This won't go away by itself.

SweetsForMySweet · 29/09/2014 12:47

Hecca is it 3 months since your last period or 3 months since you missed a period. Could you boyfriend's parents or your sister help you? your parents will find out shortly anyway because you will have a bigger bump. A scan or an accurate date for the start day of your last period are the only way to determine when the baby is due. There is no indication of twins, usually you would be very sick because the hormone levels rise very quickly with twins.

Jam, did you do the test? I hope you get the result you want

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 14:02

Im sick thtoughout the day. But honestly i do not vomit much. Just extreme nausea and headaches also i use the restroom 3x as much now :/

mumxof3x · 29/09/2014 14:40

Putting weight on and gaining a significant bump does not indicate you are having twins, its actually quite common to gain what looks like a big bump early on simply because hormone changes tend to cause bloating, I was so bloated at 12wks preg I had a "bump" not much smaller then what it was 2wks overdue. You really do need to see your doctor, your parents wont find out from your gp because your files are confidential and thats the only way u will find out if it is a multiple pregnancy. That been said you cant hide it from your parents forever cause it will come out sooner or later. Good luck.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 14:48

Does it cost money to get checked out and stuff from my doctor?

SweetsForMySweet · 29/09/2014 15:04

Hecca I'm not sure about America but you could call and ask if you turn up at the emergency room when having a bleed in early pregnancy if you would be charged. You could ring your gp or local hospital, don't leave your name but I'm sure if you ask, someone there could advise you. Is there a support agency in your area for unplanned pregnancy? I'm sure if you google it, you could find a number to ring and they would be able to advise you and offer you support. Your boyfriend's parents might be able to give you some advice? You should confide in an adult that can help you through and maybe go with you when you tell your parents. Your parents may have learnt how to cope better this time from when your sister got pregnant?

CheerfulYank · 29/09/2014 15:12

Call here Hecca. They're located in TN.

They're very pro life I'm sure but if you've decided you're keeping your baby that won't be a problem.

I called one of those numbers (for an organization in my state) when I was pregnant unexpectedly and they were great. Again, I'd already decided I was keeping the baby so the pro life stuff wasn't an issue. Anyway, they were extremely kind to me and put me in touch with doctors, etc.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 16:00

Is it free? Im really trying to save my money up for what i will absolutley need for the baby and me during the pregnancy. And yeah my boyfriend dad knows but i think im with him today to tell his mom but not sure. We r slowly telling our families.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 16:01

And yes i am 100% sure that i am keeping my baby.

CheerfulYank · 29/09/2014 16:28

Yes it is free. They'll help you and put you in touch with other agencies.

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 16:43

Thank u so much it means so much!

CheerfulYank · 29/09/2014 16:56

No problem. Best of luck! There are people who want to help you, I promise.

It might be hard to accept it sometimes, especially as people can be a bit patronizing to young moms, but try to remember that they mean well. Accept all the help you can and take care of yourself. :)

heccabecca97 · 29/09/2014 17:51

So if i go to my doctor ( who is a family friend) is he allowed to tell my parents? Thts wat worries me right now. Besides tht im not stressed much.

sykadelic · 30/09/2014 03:02

Hecca I really think you should start your own thread, I'll report it for the mods to decide.

There's a few things you'll want to look into. The first is medical insurance. If you're on your parents health insurance, great, but if not you can get low income medicaid (depending on income). There's also emergency medicaid to help with the actual labor etc.

You'll also want to look into WIC and a few other support programs. WIC provides formula and a lot of other essentials. A great support.

I'd try and go somewhere like Planned Parenthood to get pamphlets and information for what's available in your state.

As for whether your doctor is allowed to tell your parents, I had to double check. Here's from info from HIPAA (here: www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/3608004.html ) which isn't very promising. It appears it depends on the doctor and whether your parents have previously given you privacy permission.

Here's a pamphlet that's TN specific with some good numbers to call, including information on teen pregnancy and TennCare Medicaid.

Hope that helps!

sykadelic · 30/09/2014 03:03

p.s. Also, the sooner you see a doctor the sooner you can find out your condition and get started on pre-natal vitamins.

When you call the numbers I provided above, ask about finding somewhere to live if your parents throw you out. Can you sister help?

heccabecca97 · 30/09/2014 04:05

I dunno if she can. My family is really weird and my sisters husband hates me so thtll be hard.

heccabecca97 · 30/09/2014 04:07

And i dnt know wat u mean by telling me to start my own thread?

sykadelic · 30/09/2014 04:32

Starting your own topic that''s just for you.

Go here: then at the top of the list, under the word "subject" is "Start a new thread within this topic"

Then you can make your own topic so people can help you specifically with advice and stuff. Make sure you mention in your first post that you're living in the US (and preferably in the subject) so people know to give you US specific advice.
