Can anyone suggest something that might help? The right side of my head feels like it is being squashed.

Cold pack, rest.

SweetPeaPods · 27/09/2014 15:27

How many weeks pg are you? Any swelling in face, hands or feet?

Pico2 · 27/09/2014 16:15

I'm 21 weeks. No swelling. I think the cold pack is helping.

I have high blood pressure and I have to go to hospital when headaches aren't relieved by paracetamol. Are you seeing any flashing lights in front of your eyes? How far along are you?

Pico2 · 27/09/2014 19:14

No, no flashing lights. It really is just one side of my head, which suggests it is my usual tension headache as my jaws are a bit uneven.

Could you be dehydrated? I never really have headaches but did in first pregnancy. Only thing that worked was about 3 litres of water a day.

I think you can take ibuprofen in the second trimester if absolutely necessary, don't quote me on that as not 100% but you can check online, there should be nhs advice available.

TheScenicRoute · 27/09/2014 20:18

Get yourself an eye test tomorrow. My midwife told me the shape of your eyeball can change during pregnancy. I used to wear glasses for on the computer only but after weeks of a banging headache I started wearing them 24/7 and my headaches went away. X

Pico2 · 27/09/2014 20:27

I had an eye test a couple of weeks ago, so I don't think it's that. I'll try drinking more and google ibuprofen.

Those 4head menthol sticks are great, see if you can use those,

Woodenheart · 27/09/2014 20:30

I googled 4head;

Can 4head be used during pregnancy/breast-feeding?

This product can be used during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. The ingredient has been in widespread use in this and similar preparations for many years, without significant adverse reports. However, safety trials have not been conducted.
