AF was due last Monday. I took a test and it was negative. I have taken tests every other day since and they have all been negative until yesterday. A very faint line appeared yesterday and this morning it was much stronger.

I'm worried as I had the same thing happen in April and it turned out to be a slow developing pregnancy and I misscarried .

Has anyone ever had a pregnancy test show negative for a week and a half and then go on to have a healthy pregnancy?

I am absolutely terrified that I am going to miscarry again. Sad

Yes, I had the same and I'm now 33 weeks Smile had negatives then faints and then they got darker. I also did way too many clear blue digitals.
Any idea how many weeks you could be?

Congratulations, fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you.

Yes - I did!

I just "knew" I was pregnant and kept buying sticks...but bfn.

Then went to a wedding - drank too much - felt unusually horrendous the next day and peed on a stick - bfp.

Ds3 is now a bruiser of a two year old. I must have ovulated late as we DTD the day before I thought AF was coming and gayly said to DH that we didn't need to worry about protection...safe to say, he was somewhat unplanned!!

Also it could have taken a while after your missed period to show, as you may have ovulated later.

keelyboo · 26/09/2014 12:36

Yes I did, I had a "period" but knew something was up 10 days after this period I finally got a positive test, shes 8 and half years old now :) by the dates I ovulated later than normal that month hence the delay in positive test

wawabear · 26/09/2014 12:48

I had 2 negatives 4 days before my BFP!

Sometimes the level of hormone isn't high enough to be detected very early on.

Congratulations!!! Flowers

I think I am about 5/6 weeks gone. I've 'felt' pregnant for about two weeks as I remember the symptoms from last time.

Thanks for all of your replies. I'm just so worried that it is going to be just like last time. I'm almost waiting to miscarry.

Yup. Took a test when AF was a week late, said negative. Took another test when AF was 10 days late, said negative. Took a test when AF was 15 days late and it was a faint positive.

Had an early scan and from going off AF should of been around 7 weeks. I wasn't I was just 5.

Now 25 weeks with a happy healthy little girl.

Was so frightening, after a really poorly son and 2 miscarriages I didn't expect this pregnancy to work out but it has :)

AlpacaYourThings · 26/09/2014 16:12

I'm feeling slightly more reassured, thank you all so much.

I feel like I want to pretend this isn't happening and ignore it, I'm convincing myself that I won't be upset if it goes wrong that way!

Thanks again for your advice Sad

Yes I did! I took around 11 or 12 tests, all negative, before a faint line appeared. Like you, I 'felt' pregnant so kept going.

My 4 month old DD is currently flat out asleep across my chest Grin

AlpacaYourThings · 26/09/2014 20:38

I suppose I'm just panicking because of my previous miscarriage.

Lovely to hear about all your late BFP babies though!

My negative pregnancy test is now almost 6yr old DS Grin
As a pp said I just 'knew' did a test and it was - waited a week and did another and it was +
Fingers crossed for you Smile

NeedaDiscoNap · 26/09/2014 22:29

Perfectly understandable Alpaca - I had a mc too and it took me a long time to get preg with my DD. It's hard not to think like that when you've had a mc. I felt like it took a bit of the joy away. Fingers crossed for you Thanks

whosafraidofnaomiwolf · 27/09/2014 15:21

Yes, it took 10 days to get a positive. She just started Uni last week Grin

RiverRocks · 27/09/2014 19:52

I know how you feel Alpaca. My first pregnancy ended in a mmc.

We'd been trying so I started testing 4 days before AF was due with the super sensitive tests, negative, so had a hen do, got married, ate goats cheese, went in the hot tub, went canoeing in a river and probably didn't wash my hands properly, was drinking every night for a week and taking anti histamines. Tested negative every day.

Had a feeling, so a week later tested again with a different test. I'd hardly finished weeing on it before the second line came up. I'm now 14 weeks and happy, wriggling baby at the scan a week ago.

Flowers and sticky beans wishes for you

RiverRocks · 27/09/2014 19:54

*bean, although sure you won't mind beans Grin
