I completely underestimated morning sickness!

Oh my! Morning sickness is hard isn't it? I'm nauseous from the minute I waken to going to sleep and weakening up through the night feeling sick. Being sick about 3 times a day. Can hardly eat! I feel absolutely awful, like the worst hangover but everyday!
Last night I started taking pregnacare vitamins as recommended by a friend, I was previously just taking folic acid and a multi vit. Within 15 minutes I was being sick and this has continued this morning. Maybe a coincidence.
I'm off this week due to some bleeding but worried I don't cope back at work with this level of nausea.
I'm honestly going round the house like a salivating wreck. Completely underestimated how bad this is!

Sorry you're having a rough time... Just getting past the worst with DC3 preg at 15+3 weeks... It has been worse this time for sure. It is actually worse when your stomach is empty, even if you don't feel like eating, do try to eat whatever you can stomach whenever you can. If you leave it too long before eating, you'll throw up your food anyway. Don't delay having breakfast/toast/whatever as soon as you get up. I used to keep rich teas by my bed. Had awful tastes in my mouth too, this time round it has been sweet like you describe. I would say stop the vits!! Unless you can stomach a big meal to eat them with. I always struggle to keep vits down, even when not pregnant... Have generally tried to take them a few times a week just before sleep. Also recommend getting enough rest. Nap at every opportunity, go to bed early. Sickness worse when you're tired.

The vits will definitely be making you more ill, I will vouch for that.

Got an anti sickness injection today and tablets to take for a week to try and help. x

I just bought a pair of travel bands from Boots. The box says it's supposed to work immediately, an hour later Im still waiting….

fourforksache · 26/09/2014 18:27

Good news, freckle, hope it's helping.

BikeRunSki · 26/09/2014 19:48

Travel bands did nothing for me. I tried acupuncture too, but after 3 sessions the acupuncturist admitted defeat. 24hrs later I was in hospital.

My sympathies. I had 9 months of sickness with both my 2 including during the birth.

Eat whatever you fancy no matter how crap it is. Rest as much as possible. Sip water or squash or whatever liquid you can keep down.

I found ice cream utterly revolting to throw up and toast scratched my throat coming up. The worst was some kind of onion stuff that had been in my hot dog - it burnt my tongue and mouth so bad when I was sick (acid Im assuming) that I couldnt swallow water for 24 hours or eat for 48. I had to get signed off work for it (my tongue was bleeding!)

Hope you feel less death-like soon

I hope the meds helped a bit, Freckle Thanks
