Hi, I'm 8.5 weeks pregnant and today have had some brown spotting. Not much, just when I wiped, for most of the afternoon. Should I be worried? Thank you

Apparently fresh blood is the concerning type but I would contact your local early pregnancy unit anyway.

I'm 9+3 and have had lots of this. I went to the EPU and they scanned me and said everything looked fine, and to try not to worry unless it was as heavy as a period with large clots. So it's probably nothing, but you can always go and get checked out to put your mind at ease.

I wouldn't be worried (I had a lot of brown and some red spotting in early pregnancy so that's said in retrospect) but I would let your midwife know. If it turns red and there is enough of it your might be referred to EPU for an early scan.

I'm in a similar situation, had some brown discharge at first, then a little blood, now back to brown stuff. I've got an early scan booked for tomorrow. My GP was reluctant to refer me for this so I contacted the midwife directly on the advise of mumsnet terms and they booked me in. It's a bit scary but I've been told it can be perfectly normal and as long as it doesn't progress to heavier bleeding things should be ok. For me it is reassuring to be getting scanned tomorrow so it may be something you should consider. X

I had brown spotting at 8.5 weeks, went to EPU and they found a healthy little bean, then again much heavier brown (almost like a bleed) at 10 weeks. I was too scared to go back to waited for the 12 week scan and all was good, Now 23 weeks and she is (touch wood) a healthy little bump :) Go to A&E or your EPU. They will scan you and give you reassurance, it needs to be checked to be on the safe side just in case there is a teeny tiny chance it could be something more sinister. However its very common at 8 weeks :) Sending you lots of good luck xxx

I am 6 weeks and have just noticed the most tiny bit of browny cream discharge. It's not when I wipe though, only in pants. I'm not too concerned though as it's not proper blood and I am having no pain. Got my midwife coming over on the 7th Oct so I will air any concerns to her. I want an early scan as I miscarried at 12 weeks in June.
