I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant with my second and have just been diagnosed with high blood pressure e.g 150 over 90. No problems with my first throughout until delivery date when blood pressure was high, was fine once my ds was born. I've been put onto medication but I am now worried about the side effects for example small growth of baby. Has anyone else had the same problems? And did it affect your baby's growth?

Yes. I had high blood pressure from 19 weeks to full term. I was put on a beta blocker when it reached 180/112 and was admitted for several days. Finally stablised after medication to 152/95 in third trimester, still high but doctors were happy.

I was also concerned about side affects to baby but happy to say I had a health girl weighing 7lbs. She's now 3 years old and she's healthy and no side affects from the drugs. Try not to worry

Thanks for your reply. I'll try to look on the positive that getting my blood pressure under control will provide some benefits. Smile
