Is this my plug? (TMI picture included)

I'm just wondering if I can get some clarification on whether this is my mucus plug or part of it. I felt it pulling when I wiped after going to the toilet and this was on the paper. I've obviously had extra discharge during my pregnancy but none like this before and it looks exactly as my midwife described. Baby seems to be as active as ever, and there wasn't any blood.
I'm 32+3 and wondering if I should be calling the Day Unit or of I'm panicking over nothing.

I'm not sure, my plug looked like pink jelly, but quite a firm jelly, more like a jelly chew sweet consistency than a wobbly pudding jelly if you get what I mean Confused That looks more like discharge to me which does increase in your last trimester.

I don't want to worry you but mine looked exactly like that... I didn't start to lose mine until about 35 weeks and lost it slowly (although the same big amounts!) until 5 days before i went into labour... so its not definitely something to panic about, but maybe mention it at your midwife appointment :)

MishMooshAndMogwai · 22/09/2014 19:19

Doesn't look anything like mine, mine was way more and had streaks of blood in.

Everyone's is different though :)

5madthings · 22/09/2014 19:22

It could be a bit of your plug but mine were thicker/gloopier and pink tinged.

Your plug reforms so it's not a problem if you are losing mucus plug. If you are concerned call your midwife or Labour ward.

Imnotaslimjim · 22/09/2014 19:23

Looks like mine, mine came away in clumps that big for 2 days. If your concerned at all, they won't mind checking you over

iwantgin · 22/09/2014 19:24

It could be- but mine looked nothing like that.

Black current jelly is what I lost when labour started.

FoxSticks · 22/09/2014 19:26

Amazing how different all our plugs are!

SourSweets · 22/09/2014 19:43

Mine was bloody, but I was in labour when I lost mine. Plugs regenerate so losing some of it shouldn't be a worry in itself, if you have any cramping or pain then I'd call the midwife though.

Ohmjh · 22/09/2014 20:27

Thanks for your replies all - I rang the day unit (pregnant panic-y lady), who said it sounds exactly like my plug and have been told to watch out for a)more of it b) any cramping c) change in movement.

Mine looked exactly like that- I lost some after my sweep, then it really started to come away the night I went into labour about a week later.

Upthenorthmountain4 · 22/09/2014 20:32

I was induced with DS2 and I lost my plug at hospital. It was exactly like your picture and was confirmed by my midwife as the Mucus Plug.

You can go into labour for weeks after you've lost your plug so no need to panic yet! I hope it works out okay for you and baby stays put for a little while longer :)

Definitely watch for change in movements and take it easy.

Mine started like that and then got progressively bloodier [old brown blood and pinky stuff]

beckie90 · 23/09/2014 08:13

It is bits of your mucus plug, however it regenerates, mine started coming away around 27wks with ds2&3, as labour gets closer it usually becomes bloodier, mine started doing that around 2wk prior to birth, both babies born at a good time in the end 40+4(ds2) 38wk(ds3) however that been said everyones different so do keep an eye out for other signs x

All mine have been light pinkinsh with streaks of bright blood, your best off seeing midwife
