I feel a bit stupid asking this as this is my 2nd child but DS was back to back and I never experienced contraction pains, just terrible back pains. ...
I'm 39+1, had what I think was a show of mucus on Friday night bit browny colour and last night another big blob of mucus but more boogey colour.
All night I have had really painful tightenings in my tummy, which I presume are braxton hicks, they are not continuous but come and go. Also combined with an urgent need to poo (I've tried and I can't).
It's the pressure/poo feeling which I'm not sure about as that's how I felt all through my first labour.
just don't know what to do, feel a bit stupid going to midwife and it's just braxton hicks.
any advice?

If it's painful and hasn't stopped when you got up and moved about it's unlikely to be BH :)

Your description sounds v similar to both my labours - I'd give labour ward a call. Good luck!

Sounds very much like labour to me - good luck! x

If they are regular pains that dont stop after a bath then its very likely to be labour!

Always speak to your midwife. There are no silly questions.
