Hi all
I've just had my 32w growth scan at uch and they told me baby is below 5th percentile-she is 3lbs 6oz and that they suspect my placenta is not delivering enough nutrients and oxygen to thr baby.. My pi level is 1.36 which means high resistance in umbilical cord. We have to go back in four days for a repeat scan and I'm feeling really scared of the potential outcome. Wondering. If anyone had gone through the same thing and had a good outcome. Really good do with positive stories right now

I work with little babies and have seen lots of babies who have arrived earlier in similar circumstances and have done very very well. I've also had a friend who had similar... had a few extra scans but still managed to hang on until 37 weeks. Just remember that if they're calling you back in 4 days they're still just monitoring things, not panicking yet which is reassuring in itself.

I had the same. DS2 born at 35+5. Id had my bags packed from 26 weeks. 1 week in NiCU then home for good. At 21 months he appears to be fine. Reaching his milestones a bit late (sat at 9 months, crawled at 13, walking at 19). Just saying a few words now. But essentially ok. The close monitoring means the doctors will only take the baby out when he is better out than in. I was having 2 scans a week and monitoring every other day by the end. I still had 2 days notice for the CS, and time to organise everything.

I had the same at 36 weeks. they monitored the placenta every week and i was induced 2 days before my due date - but I suspect because I was due on 1st January and more likely have a 'skeleton' staff. my DS had put on only 2oz in 4 weeks. He was born 6lbs 6oz on the 9th percentile. He is now 2 years 9 months, on the 91st percentile for height and 75th for weight.
