Anyone else still madly knicker checking or am I mental?

Hi girls,

I'm 23 weeks today and for as long as I can remember I've been madly knicker checking. This includes scrutinising loo roll and often going Into a tailspin if there are any red dots(which sometimes there are). Is anyone else doing this? I thought I would stop being so scared at 20 weeks but so far it's not happened! I did have a few early bleeds in the first trimester so I guess I'm scared of a repeat performance. Any suggestions on how to stop being crazy? X

20 weeks and still doing this. Also did this all the way through my two previous pregnancies so don't think I'll break the habit any time soon.

I stopped at 37 weeks! Grin Whereupon I started checking for bloody show and being disappointed at lack of it!
After bleeds this kind of anxiety is very common indeed.
If you find it is interfering with life (eg going to the loo when you don't need to wee, staying home...) then mention it to your mw. There are counsellors and even hypnotherapy CDs which can help.
After 20 weeks, the risk of loss is very low indeed. :)

Thanks for the reply- at least it's not just me. My OH thinks I'm mental and I have to say that I'm finding the constant worry exhausting! Is everyone like this then?

Ahhh OP, the worry never ends now Grin the minute you decide to TTC the worry starts and probably ends in your retirement.

LittlePink · 19/09/2014 20:16

Yep 25 weeks here and still doing it too! So its not just me then!

eurochick · 19/09/2014 20:20

I never stopped.

Chattycat78 · 19/09/2014 20:25

I was kind of hoping someone would say they'd stopped by now and to get a grip in a way. :) looks like we are all at it!

I haven't done this for a while, but have started dreaming about it instead which isn't nice.

duvetfan · 19/09/2014 21:34

36 weeks and still checking! Was still checking last time too even at 40 weeks.

NinjaPanda34 · 19/09/2014 23:00

19 weeks and still paranoid! (did have a bleed at 17 weeks though) that's made me even more paranoid!

hartmel · 20/09/2014 00:46

35 weeks with DC2 and still doing..

Cloud10 · 20/09/2014 08:48

Still doing it at 28 weeks! I started wearing black knickers to stop myself doing it, but now I'm an obsessive paper checker instead!

butterfly86 · 20/09/2014 09:02

I did it right til the end I was super anxious as I'd had previous losses but I thought I'd stop it after a while I even panicked when I had a bloody show that it wasn't the show and something was wrong! Not sure I could do them stressful 9 months again!

FeelingBlessed77 · 20/09/2014 09:27

Glad I'm not the only one. first pregnancy, very scared of doing anything. x

Elledouble · 20/09/2014 11:11

Oh dear, I'm 8 1/2 weeks ish and I thought maybe it'd calm down eventually! I've been wearing pantyliners or towels every day since I found out I was pregnant Blush

After having a mc in April & then a bleed & spotting for a month on this pregnancy, I was fanatical & on 24hr knicker watch.
I'm now 18wks & since I've started feeling lots of little kicks, I have definitely settled down. Sometimes I don't even think about it! I'm enjoying this moment as I'm sure it won't last too long!!
