I am 36 weeks, my first was born on his due date and my last 3 children were born at 37 weeks, I had a show 2 weeks ago and Iv had strong contractions on and off, on Monday they told me I was 3cm dilated and since then Iv had nothing other than Braxton hicks and shooting pains, plus stinging in my pubic bone, starting to get me down as not sleeping much, waking up in night with odd pains, not sure if there's anything I can do to help dilation, all my past labours were quick and I knew from 'that one' pain it was true labour, never have experienced this were it seems to come then switch off and I have this horrible patch on top of my stomach that feels like something is pulling from the inside, that's been going on for weeks and yet nobody looks into it, it's so uncomfortable, any advice would be very welcome :)

You poor thing.. have you phoned your midwife and told her how you feel?

Maybe due to this being your 5th baby (am I counting right?) your body is more sensitive and you are feeling more pains. I found my 2 labour harder because I was a bit older and felt aches and pains I hadn't felt with my first but maybe you are in labour ?
One of my friends had her baby after a week of 'slow labour' i.e she had no idea she was in labour just random pains here and there and not feeling comfortable but no contractions per say. She went to the hospital just to make sure all was ok and she was 9cm !

Extra checks won't harm and will put your mind at ease I think... x x x
