My DD was very disappointed 2 years ago when her second little brother was born as she wanted a sister. Now I'm pregnant again with twins....and the 20 week scan has revealed we're having twin BOYS. What should I do???

I would tell her to prepare her..

Err, there's not a lot you can do, is there?! Do you think it would have helped her before to be prepared? As you have all boys with her the eldest, could you not emphasise how special she is as the only girl? I have all dds so I' m not being much help! Congrats on the twin boys though.

absolutely. she's going to find out sooner or later, and it's not as if you can change the sex!

How old is she?

paddyclamp · 25/09/2006 15:04

I would definitely tell her. I agree with anniediv that you can tell her how special she is.

She's 5. Her teacher told me that she's been saying in class that the twins are girls. Have been trying to tell her that it might be a boy and a girl or even 2 boys but she's having none of it

oh dear, hmm I think you need to tell her asap to allow her to get angry or be upset or both. my dd is 6 and desperate that this baby is a girl. the difference is that she already has a baby sister so not too bad if it's boy but she is still adamant that she doesn't want a brother

lizabet · 25/09/2006 15:20

The strange thing is, she's not even a girly girl. Doesn't play with dolls, hates wearing dresses, has even said she wants to be a boy. So this idea of wanting a sister so much is bugging me. I agree i should tell her but not looking forward to it at all.
