Sounds pretty normal, I gained a stone in the first trimester then it levelled out and then I gained again in the third. In all I gained four stone in my first pregnancy because I was just greedy in the third trimester, and I bloody enjoyed it. I lost it afterwards, took six months of sensible eating.

With my second I was more careful and gained three stone (less cake and cheese sandwiches at midnight) lost it again within six months.

It does feel awful when you are at that point of not yet looking really pregnant, I just felt lumpy. But once my bump really started to show I felt better about myself.

Also, you have to think about increased blood volume, water retention, amniotic fluid, placenta and baby. So it's not like you've just gained 10lbs of fat, your body is doing it's job :)
