Woke up with bad hiccups - 10 weeks

Hi all

I woke up in the night with really bad hiccups, they started again this morning.

Of course I googled it and read all sorts about babies suffocating, still birth etc. Called NHS Direct and they said to call my GP. Called my GP and she was quite dismissive - she said I have had a scan already and due another soon. Basically said if something bad is going to happen then it will anyway and to wait it out until my 12 week scan.

I get what she's saying and I guess it was a silly thing to telephone for but NHS Direct told me to call the GP.

Anyone else had this?

xx

Hiccups? Yeah had them a few times in my life! Seriously, stop worrying and stop believing any old bollocks you read on the internet. You having hiccups is not going to harm your baby, especially given that it's currently the size of an olive! You'll drive yourself mad over the next 30 weeks otherwise.

Sorry I was just worried - I'm new to this, it's a worrying time and NHS Direct suggested calling my GP.
